Looking for a Stable Linux Distro – Suggestions Needed!

Hey everyone! I'm new to Linux and currently trying out Fedora 42 with KDE Plasma 6. However, I've been facing some issues where my HDD sometimes shows up in Dolphin, and sometimes it doesn't. I have important files on it that I can't access regularly, and I've encountered various other small problems with Fedora. Given my situation, I'm looking for recommendations for Linux distros that are generally stable and won't cause me too many headaches. I've heard Ubuntu and Debian might be reliable options. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Welcome to the Linux world! Before you consider switching distros, let's see if we can fix the HDD issue first. Have you checked if your drive appears in the disk utility or partition manager? Sometimes, it might be there, but for some odd reason, Dolphin isn't displaying it. Don't be too quick to jump ship just yet!

Totally agree! Switching distros won't necessarily fix the underlying problem. Linux manages files differently compared to Windows, so checking the disk utility, like GParted or the GNOME Disk Utility, can clarify things. If it’s just not mounted or has permission issues, we can help with that!
