I'm searching for a GPS tracking device that doesn't need any wiring. Just to clarify, I'm not looking to use it for any creepy purposes. I travel frequently and want to place some trackers in my bags. When I'm not traveling, I'd like to keep them in my vehicles. I'm okay with a subscription model but would prefer something under $20 a month. I don't need real-time tracking, and it's important that the device doesn't alert anyone nearby, as that would defeat the purpose. I currently have an Android phone with AT&T.

Have you considered using Apple AirTags? They’re really effective for tracking, but they don’t play well with Android devices. If you need something for your Android, Tile trackers could be a good fit. The great thing is, neither of these options requires a subscription!
If you're using an iPhone, AirTags are a solid option. But since you're on Android, you'll want to use products compatible with that. Just keep in mind that all these tags rely on nearby devices to report their locations, instead of GPS. So if you hide them well in your vehicle, they won’t be easy to find, especially if you muffle the sound. They’re meant more for finding lost items rather than real-time tracking.
I mentioned I have an Android phone. What tracking tags would you recommend for that? My wife uses an iPhone, so she could track, but I read that Apple tags alert people when they’re being tracked. Any alternatives you suggest?

Yeah, AirTags are pretty great, but definitely not the right choice for Android users.
