Looking for Alternatives to TeamViewer for Remote Support Tools

We're transitioning from TeamViewer and need to find a replacement remote support tool for our organization. We manage several hundred endpoints via Intune, and we're specifically looking for a solution focused on remote support. We already have monitoring and patching handled, so our requirements are concentrated on core functionalities.

Here are the features we're prioritizing:
- Headless access that still shows the OS GUI
- Unattended access that can interact with UAC prompts
- Support for simultaneous sessions with multiple endpoints
- Mandatory MFA for agent users
- Restricted remote access solely to our agents
- Ability to block user inputs when needed
- Support for Windows and Mac platforms
- Silent deployment on a large scale
- Mandatory automatic updates for clients
- User access restrictions that don't require admin permissions
- Good support with minimal hassle
- A solid security reputation

We'd also appreciate any additional features like Active product development, Intune integration, automatic reporting, visual session recording, CLI access, SSO with Entra ID, and company branding.

Given our focus on Entra ID and absence of AD, features linked to on-premise systems won't be necessary. While we haven't faced major issues with TeamViewer, its unreliability and our growing frustrations with flaky connections have made it time for a change. I'm looking forward to recommendations and experiences with tools that fit our needs!

I wouldn't recommend ScreenConnect again. They’ve dealt with some serious security vulnerabilities in the past, and while TeamViewer has had fewer, I’ve found SplashTop to be more reliable with a better security record. Just my two cents!

If you're considering alternatives, definitely look into PDQ. They have some good reviews for remote support, and their tools are user-friendly. Just make sure it fits all your needs regarding security and access controls.

It sounds like what you need is ConnectWise ScreenConnect. I’ve had a lot of good experiences with it, and they offer both self-hosted and cloud options. Only drawback is that their Mac remote app doesn’t have all the same features as the Windows version.

I’d advise against using Splashtop. While it’s cheap, I’ve consistently run into issues with it. Also, be wary of TeamViewer’s cancellation policies; they’re brutal if you miss the fine print deadlines. We had to unexpectedly pay for an extra year because of that!
