I'm in the process of upgrading my CPU and GPU, and I'm seeking some advice on my choices. Currently, I'm using an Intel Core i7-9700K at 3.6 GHz with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB. I'm considering an upgrade to an Intel Core i7-14700K at 3.4 GHz with 20 cores, along with an ASRock Challenger Radeon RX 9070 XT with 16 GB. I also plan to upgrade my RAM, PSU, and motherboard, and my budget is around $1,200. I primarily play Squad, ManorLords, and occasionally Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2. I'm not trying to get every ounce of performance since I have three kids and limited time to play, but I want to ensure I'm making smart financial choices with this upgrade. I'd appreciate any critiques or suggestions since this will be my first move from GeForce RTX to AMD Radeon, and I'm usually a fan of Intel considering their naming system.

If you're looking for an upgrade, consider the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D instead of the 14700K. It generally performs better for gaming and is only about $40 more. Just make sure that going for the 7800X3D fits within your bundle pricing at Microcenter, as that might change the calculations a bit.

Thanks for the tip! My budget is $1200. If I grab the 9070XT for around $600, I can pair it with the 14700K and a motherboard for about $400. That should leave me enough for a PSU and some RAM without stretching my budget too much. The combo deal at Microcenter influenced my choice for the Intel CPU since I'm usually comfortable with it.
