Looking for Offline Apps to Learn Coding

Hey everyone! I'm hoping to find an app that allows me to learn coding without needing cell reception. My daily commute often takes me underground where I'm without service, and I want to make the most of that time. I'm also interested in picking up some communication skills along the way. I'm open to both free and paid options. Any recommendations?

Mobile apps alone usually don’t cut it. You’d benefit most from training videos paired with practical exercises that you can download for offline use. Coding today is more about understanding the concept and reasoning behind the code than just memorizing syntax, so finding comprehensive resources is key. Good luck on your learning journey!

You might want to check out Udemy! They have a lot of coding courses, and you can download videos to watch offline. Just make sure the courses you choose allow downloads. This could be great for learning at your own pace during your commute!

If you have a decent laptop, consider downloading a coding model like a 'deepseek' or distilled model for coding help. It can aid your learning and help you understand concepts better. Just remember, it’s important to try solving problems on your own before relying on it for answers!

Honestly, a lot of us over 50 learned from books! Have you thought about what programming language you’d like to start with? I'd suggest grabbing a good book on the subject, and setting up a development environment on your laptop. For instance, if you’re looking at iOS, Apple's AP Computer Science book or their Swift book can be really helpful and you might find offline PDFs too.
