Looking to Upgrade My Ryzen 2600 Build for Modern Gaming

I'm currently using a Ryzen 2600 and an RTX 2080 on a 1440p setup, but I'm looking to upgrade for BF6 and other modern games. I've been out of the hardware upgrade scene for a bit and would love some advice on which processor I should go for on the AM4 socket—maybe the 5600X or something even better? Also, if anyone has suggestions for a GPU upgrade, that would be great! My other components include 2x8GB of DDR4-3200 RAM and a 550W power supply. I'm not on a strict budget, but I prefer not to completely rebuild the system; I just want to make the most of what I have!

Before anything, be sure to check your budget since that really affects your options. If you're flexible, upgrading to the 5600X combined with an RTX 4070 would be a solid combo. They both have similar power requirements to your current setup, so your 550W PSU should handle it without a hitch.

Good point! OP, have you checked the specs on your motherboard yet? That could also influence your upgrade path.

What motherboard do you have? Knowing that can help narrow down your choices. If it’s a good one, the 5600X is definitely a great upgrade, and you might also be able to fit in a beefy GPU like the 4070. Your B450M Mortar should work fine!
