I recently bought a used ASUS Vivobook X510URR that had a failing 1TB HDD. It was so bad that it started giving me I/O errors during games, and eventually, it wouldn't boot at all. I replaced it with a new SATA M.2 SSD. At first, the SSD showed up in the BIOS, but when I plugged in my Ventoy USB, the SSD disappeared. After disconnecting all USBs and rebooting, it appeared again, but now it inconsistently disappears and reappears. I'm really at a loss here, and I can't think of what else to try.

Have you checked the brand and type of that SSD? Sometimes, certain brands have compatibility issues. Also, it might help to reseat the SSD in its slot just in case it's not making good contact. That can sometimes solve the problem!
I noticed a pattern with my own laptop, too! If I turn it off and let it cool down for a bit, the SSD usually shows up in BIOS after that. It could be a heat issue affecting its functionality!
Just to clarify, you’re saying that the SSD vanishes and reappears even after multiple reboots? That's pretty unusual. It might be worth checking if there's a BIOS update available or tweaking some power settings to see if that helps keep it detected consistently.
Yeah, it’s an offbrand SSD, but it’s been working fine on another PC. This issue was also happening with my older HDD, so it seems like it's not just the SSD causing trouble.
