My Dad Clicked a Suspicious Link and Might Have Installed Malware—What Should I Do?

I need some guidance. My dad accidentally clicked on a link that someone close to him sent through WhatsApp, and he might have installed some shady apps on his phone. He initially didn't think he clicked anything, but he later admitted to it and even filed a report about it. I'm trying to figure out if this is serious malware or if his data, like bank and email passwords, might be at risk. Any advice on how to handle this situation?

I recommend resetting the phone to factory settings if it hasn't been done yet. This usually clears out any malicious apps. Just be cautious even after the reset; it’s wise to change any passwords that might have been saved on the device, especially for banking and email accounts. It’s better to be safe!

Yeah, we reset it already. I’m just worried he might have already lost his passwords.

First off, it's good that you're being proactive. If you're suspicious about malware, I recommend checking out some malware removal guides online. They can help you identify and remove any threats. Just keep in mind that if your dad's installed apps are acting weird, that’s a sign they could be malicious. Also, definitely consider running a reputable antivirus or anti-malware software.
