I've got 16GB of RAM in my laptop, but it only recognizes 8GB. Everything was working fine before, and I could access the full amount of memory. Now, however, even though CPU-Z recognizes the 16GB as installed, I'm stuck with just 8GB. I've tested both RAM sticks and they work individually. I suspect one of my RAM slots might be faulty, but CPU-Z indicates that both slots have RAM detected. Any suggestions on what might be wrong?

You should try testing each RAM stick one at a time in both slots. This will help you determine if one of the sticks or slots is faulty. If the laptop doesn’t boot with one stick in the suspected slot, that might indicate an issue with it.
I tried both sticks solo, but the laptop only boots if the left RAM slot is occupied. Is it possible that the slot is dead despite what CPU-Z shows?
