My New PC Won’t Boot to BIOS—Tried Different RAM Kits, What Now?

Hey folks! I recently built a PC for my cousin, and I'm running into some issues. Here are the specs: Ryzen 7 5800X, RX 5700XT (just a temporary graphics card), and an Asrock B550M Pro4 motherboard.

I've tested three different RAM kits: Patriot Viper 16GB, HyperX 16GB, and G.Skill 8GB from an old set. None of these are on the motherboard's Memory QVL, though.

The PC powers on, but it doesn't boot up; both the CPU and DRAM lights are lighting up regardless of which RAM kit I use. I've read that the motherboard checks the RAM first when the CPU light is on. I'm wondering whether I need to purchase a RAM kit from the QVL list or if there's another issue at hand. I've also contacted Asrock support, but that might take a while to hear back.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

P.S. The BIOS version is P3.40, and it's supposed to be compatible with the 5800X as long as the version is 1.80 or later.

Have you tried using just one RAM stick in the A2 slot? Sometimes a new build needs that specific configuration to boot up properly before you can add the rest.

I did try that with all three kits, but unfortunately, none of them worked.

Try taking the GPU out and check your power supply as well. Also, ensure that the motherboard isn’t shorting against anything. If it still doesn’t boot, try one RAM stick at a time in each slot. If the CPU and DRAM lights continue for more than 15 minutes, it could mean either the CPU or motherboard is defective. I've been there before, so I feel your pain!

Thanks for all the tips! I’ll definitely give this a shot today.
