I got this pre-built PC from my dad on July 6, 2023, and I don't know much about its components. My room tends to get dusty, so over the last two years, a lot of dust has built up inside the PC; I just left it as is since I didn't know how to clean it. About two months ago, I heard a loud noise coming from my PC and noticed it was really slow. The mouse lagged, taking several seconds to respond when I moved it. I thought it must be due to the dust, so I asked my dad to take it to a technician. After a month, he did, but when I powered it back on, the loud noise returned and it was still slow. Now it's sitting off and I'm not sure what to do next. Could the issue be related to the CPU or something else? Any insights would be really appreciated since I'm not tech-savvy.

Honestly, maybe it's time to switch to Linux! It can often run smoother on older hardware, and there are plenty of guides to help you with installation.
It sounds like your PC might have an AIO cooler. You should check the CPU temperatures in the BIOS—there's a chance the pump has failed. If you don't have an AIO and still see high temperatures, it might just need some fresh thermal paste. Either way, it could be overheating, which would explain the noise and lag.
Since you took it to a technician, did they mention anything about the noise? If not, it might be helpful to record the sound and share it. If it’s a specific noise, that could help diagnose the issue. You can also use a tool like Speccy for a quick hardware info check to make sure everything is running as it should be.

I do have an AIO cooler, but I’m not sure if the pump is dead. Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely let my dad know!
