My PC Keeps Turning Off When Gaming – What Could Be Wrong?

I recently upgraded my PC and have been playing Cyberpunk 2077, but I'm encountering a frustrating issue. After about 15 minutes of gameplay, my PC crashes and shuts down completely. The only way to turn it back on is by unplugging it from the wall for a few minutes before plugging it back in. Here are my specs: Ryzen 7 5700x CPU, Antec C400 cooler, RX 7700 XT GPU, 16GB RAM at 3200MHz, B450m K II motherboard, and a 750W Gold V2 PSU. I ran a power test with OCCT, but the problem persists. I even tried limiting the GPU's power usage with MSI Afterburner, and while it delayed the shutdown to about 25-30 minutes, it still crashed. I've checked the temperatures, and neither the CPU nor the GPU exceeded 65°C. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this? What might be causing the issue and how can I fix it?

It sounds to me like your PSU could be failing. The symptoms you're describing—your PC shutting down and only turning back on after a full power cycle—are classic signs of a PSU malfunction. This usually happens when it triggers a safety feature, like over-voltage or over-temperature protection. Just a heads up, if you decide to replace your PSU, be sure to use the cables that come with it, since modular cables aren't universally compatible. I'd recommend considering a replacement if it's triggering these issues, even if it's less than a year old.

Thanks for the info! So you're saying I should look into swapping out the PSU then? I didn't expect issues so soon after purchasing.
