My PC Won’t Start – Is My Motherboard Toast?

Hey everyone, I've been having some serious issues with my PC lately. It started showing signs of struggling to boot, only blinking the lights for a second and then nothing. Sometimes, after a few tries, it would eventually boot up, but even then, when I hit the power button to shut down Windows, it just turns off completely instead of going through the normal shutdown process. This problem seems to come and go.

Lately, it has escalated to a point where the fans spin up, but it won't even get to the BIOS screen. I've tried reseating components, which usually helps, but now nothing seems to work at all. The power supply should be fine, so I'm beginning to think my B450M S2H motherboard might finally be on its last legs after about 4-5 years. Any thoughts?

Yeah, it does sound like a failing motherboard. If it’s getting worse over time, that’s usually a solid indicator. It might be a good idea to check if the motherboard has any visible damage or signs of overheating. Good luck!

It sounds like your motherboard could be failing, especially since you can't access the BIOS at all. If the monitor isn't getting a signal and the USB ports are working, it's possible something on the board itself has gone bad. Definitely worth looking into replacing it if the issues keep worsening.
