Hey everyone! My RTX 3060 just died, and I'm looking for some advice on replacing it. Should I stick with another RTX 3060, or is there a better option out there? My budget is around $500, and I need a GPU with two fans. Currently, I'm using a 400W PSU, and I'm wondering if I need to upgrade that too. Any suggestions would be really appreciated! Thanks!

I just had my RTX 3060 die too! I got an RTX 5060 (the 8GB version) as a replacement. It has performed slightly better for my needs, and I managed to use my old PSU without issues. However, if you're considering the Ti version, you should really think about upgrading your PSU first.

Good to hear you got a decent replacement! But yeah, power supply is key for those Ti models.

I appreciate it! Sounds like upgrading the PSU may be the way to go.

Honestly, your 400W PSU is pretty limiting. If you can stretch your budget a little, a 650W PSU would be much better. This way, you won’t have to compromise when choosing a GPU. For your budget, consider the 5060 Ti or maybe looking at some used previous-gen cards if you're okay with that.

Exactly! Investing in a better PSU now will save you headaches later.

Thanks for the insight! A solid PSU upgrade sounds like the way to go.

If you're looking to upgrade, I recommend checking out the RTX 5060 Ti. It's currently about $499 at Microcenter, and it comes with two fans. Just keep in mind that while your 400W PSU might manage with a 3060, it's on the lower side for more demanding GPUs. You might want to consider upgrading to at least a 650W PSU to future-proof your setup.

That's a solid suggestion! Newer GPUs can be power hungry, so better to play it safe with a stronger PSU.

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely look into getting a new PSU along with a 5060 Ti.
