Hey everyone! I'm new to running a business and have zero experience with web development. I hired someone from Upwork to create my website, and while I think he did a great job, my WordPress site has crashed, and I have no idea how to fix it. I can't get in touch with the developer, and I'm stressing out. Can anyone suggest where I can find someone who can help me fix the site quickly? Also, I'm interested in moving to a different platform eventually. Should I consider going back to Upwork, or are there better options?

Have you checked if your site's down due to a plugin issue? If you can access your dashboard, try disabling plugins one by one to see if that helps. Also, if you're uncomfortable with troubleshooting, it might be worthwhile to hire someone who focuses on WordPress support. This way, they can get your site working again and advise you on whether moving to a different platform is a better idea.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll look into that. I have a feeling it might be a plugin issue since things have been breaking after updates.
You mentioned wanting to switch to a different platform in the future. Platforms like Wix or Squarespace might be easier for you to manage since they’re more user-friendly. Just keep in mind that migrating a website can be a hassle, so it’s better to fix your current site first!
I’m not a fan of those platforms, but you do you! Just be cautious about long-term needs.
True! Do your research when you decide to migrate, as each platform has its pros and cons.
It sounds like your issues might not be with WordPress itself. Often, site crashes happen due to coding issues or lack of technical knowledge about maintenance. Try troubleshooting by checking if your plugins are causing problems or if you can access your hosting settings. Learning a bit about the basics could really help you figure out what’s wrong!
I totally agree! It's worth looking into the plugins and settings you have. Sometimes, simple adjustments can make a big difference.
Exactly! Updates can be tricky, so it's good to stay on top of what changes when you do them.
Great advice! Just remember to backup your site before making any major changes.
