Hey everyone! I'm saving up to build my first PC, and I've got a budget of around $1000. Recently, I received an OMEN HP gaming laptop from my brother—it's a bit outdated (model from 2018), and it's struggling to run some of the games I want to play, like Rocket League, R6, Rust, Valorant, Sea of Thieves, Minecraft, and maybe even get into GTA roleplay. My goal is to build something that can handle Rust on medium to high graphics, since right now my laptop can barely keep up. I don't know many people who build PCs since most of my friends are into Xbox, so I'm reaching out for some advice to help me get started with this build!

Absolutely, check out PCPartPicker! It’s awesome for making sure your parts are compatible. For games like Rust, your graphics card is key. You don’t need the newest models; even a Radeon RX 6600 can deliver good FPS—around 60 should be smooth for most games. And if you want to dive deeper into building, Linus Tech Tips has some great how-to videos!
If you’re looking for performance, consider going with an AMD Ryzen 7 7700 paired with a RX 7800XT graphics card, and a 750W power supply, it should give you a solid gaming experience without breaking the bank!
I have to disagree a bit; while 60fps is good, higher frame rates can feel way smoother, like 120fps! You'll definitely notice the difference in responsiveness!
