I'm in a tough spot and need your help. I returned my iPhone 16 Pro back in May, and Apple confirmed they received it in June. However, they still charged me $1,703 on the very same day they acknowledged the return. I've made over ten calls to AppleCare, and they keep saying there's a 'system error' and that the refund is being processed, but I'm yet to see any money. I'm currently abroad and really need these funds for rent. Has anyone faced similar issues with Apple? What are the best ways to escalate this? Should I consider disputing this charge with my bank? Also, any advice on whether reaching out to Executive Relations would help? I'm planning to file a chargeback and may try to escalate this with a manager or reach out on social media. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You should definitely consider contacting your local consumer rights agency as well as Apple’s customer relations. They usually have more clout and can push your case along. As for the chargeback, that’s a solid plan if you’re getting nowhere; just make sure to keep all your documentation and call records just in case. Hope you get your money back soon!
I think reaching out to Tim Cook is a long shot, but sometimes it doesn't hurt to aim high! Have you tried sending a detailed email? Sometimes, if you can get a human on the line instead of the automated system they use, that could lead to quicker results. Best of luck!
It sounds really frustrating! I had a similar issue with a different tech company. I found it helpful to reach out directly on social media, especially Twitter. Sometimes, public visibility can speed things up a lot. Also, if you can, get the ARN (Authorization Reference Number) for your return to provide more details during your calls. That could help clarify your situation to the agents who seem to not have all the info. Good luck!
