Need Help Setting Up My Wi-Fi Booster

Hey everyone! I'm trying to set up my TP-Link Wi-Fi booster (it's an AC1900 model), and I think I might be doing it wrong. It's plugged into the wall next to an Ethernet outlet—what's that called, by the way? Haha! I've connected an Ethernet cable from that outlet to the booster, but I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to be done. Also, I want to connect my PS5 with a cable, but the booster doesn't have an output for that. Are there any models that offer this feature? Any advice would be super helpful!

First off, can you confirm the exact model of your booster? AC1900 is just a general spec, it might actually be a TP-Link RE550. If that's the case, your setup sounds a bit off. You'll need to configure the range extender to connect to your Wi-Fi first. After it's set up, you can move it anywhere in your home that gets Wi-Fi coverage—no need for it to be plugged into the Ethernet outlet. Once that's done, you can use the Ethernet port on the RE550 to connect your PS5 directly to it. This should give you a better setup for gaming!

Yeah, I have a RE550 too! Just to clarify, once I set it up, I can plug it into the wall with no extra connections? That sounds simple!
