Hey everyone! I'm thinking about making the switch from Windows 11 to Linux due to all the bloatware and decisions from Microsoft that I'm not too fond of. I've backed up my entire PC using Veeam Backup on an external hard drive, and I'm wondering if this will work for moving to Linux. I've heard good things about Linux Mint, especially since I'm looking for a user-friendly experience for general use, programming, and gaming. I have some experience since I dual booted Ubuntu during university, but I'm still quite new to Linux. I'm just looking for advice on whether Mint is a good fit for someone like me. Here are my specs: Intel i5-12400F, ASUS Prime B660M-A D4, 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, along with multiple SSD and HDD drives.

Linux Mint is definitely an excellent choice for beginners! It's user-friendly and efficient compared to Windows. You might also want to check out PikaOS or CachyOS since they're beginner-friendly too and come optimized for performance. I suggest trying a few different distros on a USB stick to see what you like! Don’t stress too much about picking the perfect one—you're likely to switch things up as you get more used to Linux! Just remember, it's different from Windows, but that’s part of the learning experience! Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! I appreciate the suggestions and will definitely keep them in mind.
