I'm completely new to Linux and I'm switching because I'm tired of all the bloatware and corporate spyware that comes with Windows. I'm looking for a setup that allows maximum customizability, with just the essentials installed, as I'll be using my PC for both work and gaming. I have decided on using Arch Linux as my distro, but I'm not sure how to get started. Are there any other distros that might be better suited for what I'm looking for? Is Arch a good choice for a beginner?

Any Linux distro can work for you! While Arch offers a lot of customization, it might be a bit more complicated for beginners. I'd suggest just using it like you would any other OS, starting with some basic desktop settings to get comfortable. Over time, you can customize more as you get used to it. Enjoy the journey!
Arch is great but not beginner-friendly. You might want to check out Fedora instead. It's stable, has solid community support, and gives you many of the latest features without the steep learning curve of Arch.
Are there any other distros that are more community-driven?
If you're looking for something based on Arch but easier to start with, I recommend EndeavourOS. It has a graphical installer and tools to help manage your system, while still allowing you access to Arch's powerful package manager.

For sure, just dive in and experiment, you'll pick it up as you go!
