I recently bought a Ryzen 5 3600X on eBay for about $60.50, but when the package arrived, it was a mess. The listing had a couple of different CPU photos, so I assumed the seller was being lazy. But the real issue was when I opened the box. While the packaging seemed fine, the CPU itself wasn't protected at all, and the heavy Wraith Spire cooler was sitting on top of it, bending multiple pins. I've already submitted a refund request for "item not as described" and reported the damage. Should I just wait for eBay to intervene, or is there something I can do in the meantime?

I think a good first step would be to reach out to the seller directly. I once received a 5600X in bad shape because of poor packaging too. I contacted the seller before asking for a refund, and they were apologetic when I told them what happened. It gave me a chance to fix the pins myself, but not everyone has the ability to do that. Still, it might help your case!
Just hang tight and let eBay handle it. They usually side with buyers in these situations, so you're likely to get your refund.

Yeah, my issue was that there were over five bent pins all over the CPU. It's wild how some sellers just throw the components in a box without proper protection!
