I've encountered a puzzling issue with several UPS units we received recently. Despite being advertised as brand new Tripp Lite SM2200RMXL2UP models, they all seem to have old batteries installed, with installation dates going back to 2018. To make matters worse, the serial numbers on the shipping boxes don't match those reported by the devices. Has anyone else run into something like this? Our Value-Added Reseller (VAR) is trying to sort it out, but it feels like Tripp Lite/Eaton is reluctant to take responsibility. We've had around four of these units with the same problem since March up to this October.

Yeah, I've seen a few situations like this. It seems that sometimes VARs mix in older inventory or demo units with new stock. Those battery install dates definitely don’t lie. If it's showing 2018, that means it likely sat around for a while before getting sold. It’s a bit concerning!
Is this what it feels like when a toy runs out of batteries? Seems frustrating to deal with this kind of issue when you're expecting brand new equipment!

That’s interesting. I thought these units shipped directly from Eaton, but it sounds like some older stock got mixed in. The fact that four out of ten had this issue is definitely odd. Hope your VAR is able to get this sorted quickly!
