Hey everyone, I need some assistance here. I've been getting these annoying ads and random popups that say "you have 18 viruses, download TotalAV today!" I've never heard of this software before or installed anything related to it. Just to be safe, I ran Microsoft Defender checks and confirmed I don't have any extensions on Google or recent downloads. Should I be concerned about this?

It sounds like you might be dealing with unwanted ads or possibly malware. First, check if the notifications are coming from your browser. If they are, go into your browser settings and disable notifications. That solves it most of the time. But if they're still showing up, you might have malware. It's worth running a proper malware scan just to be safe.
Be careful with just disabling notifications; that might not fix the underlying issue. If you keep getting those notifications and you aren't visiting any suspicious sites, it's likely you have some malware or adware infection on your computer.
