I have an old mechanical keyboard that's over 20 years old, and I've noticed that the USB port is bent, likely from some physical pressure. Could this be a risk to my computer? I've been using this keyboard for about four months without any issues, but recently, it stopped working after I woke my PC from sleep. I tried plugging it into different systems, but it didn't respond. Strangely, after about 20 hours, it started working again. Is the bent port causing these problems?

It sounds like that bent USB port isn't making good contact anymore, which could lead to shorts or other damage. It's probably safer to just replace the keyboard rather than risk breaking your motherboard. Fortunately, there are plenty of affordable mechanical options out there now that offer great quality!
What if I kept the keyboard and just changed the cable? Would that help?
