Should I buy this G.SKILL DDR5 RAM now or wait for a better deal?

I'm considering purchasing a G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo RGB Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) CL 30 RGB DDR5 RAM to complete my PC upgrade. I already have my Motherboard and CPU ready, but this RAM is the last piece I need. The current price on Newegg is $949, but with a $170 discount, it's down to $779 before tax. Given that prices for RAM have been fluctuating lately, do you think now is a good time to buy or should I hold out for potential price drops? I'm worried that if I wait, it might sell out before I can get my hands on it, but the current price feels excessive.

Honestly, I think prices are stabilizing enough that buying now isn’t a bad idea. They might go up again soon as supplies dwindle, so getting what you need while you can makes sense.

I have a feeling specific RAM types will continue to fluctuate, and I'm not convinced the one I want will drop anytime soon.

It might be helpful to think about what you actually need. If you're mainly gaming, 32GB is usually enough. But if you’re into serious editing or heavy tasks, then I get the 64GB choice. Just keep your options open and look for second-hand deals if possible. Waiting could pay off since $800 is a steep price for new RAM.

That makes sense! I just want to upgrade everything, and I’m tired of worrying about any future upgrades.

If you’re looking for 64GB, I have a Corsair Vengeance RGB kit that I'll sell for $575 plus shipping. However, it's in white if color matters to you. Just a thought—prices are likely to stabilize but may rise again in 2026, so it's a bit of a gamble.

I’ve been loyal to G.Skill since 2020, so I'm leaning toward sticking with that brand.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about the looks. In this economy, just grab RAM that’s decent and comes with a warranty, especially if it's cheaper!

I get that, but I'm more interested in future-proofing. I want 64GB to avoid upgrades for a few years.

If you feel good about your decision, go for it! Just keep in mind that prices might drop tomorrow and it's hard to predict these things. I learned this the hard way when I bought my PC components and the next day they went up in price! But hey, if you really need the RAM, sometimes you've just gotta bite the bullet.

Exactly, I also bought parts anticipating shortages, so I understand. Prices are all over the place with RAM lately!
