It really depends on your local job market. Both Java Spring Boot and JavaScript are widely used, so check what companies near you are looking for. Personally, I started with JavaScript but landed my first job working with .NET instead. So, figure out where your skills fit best!
Consider focusing on JavaScript since many companies don’t want to spend time training you for full-stack roles. Having strong JavaScript skills could open doors for you!
What do you enjoy working with more? Spring Boot tends to have a better reputation, especially since many entry-level developers only scratch the surface of JavaScript.
From what I've noticed, backend roles are currently easier to break into. My company has been automating a lot of our frontend work with AI, but complex backend tasks still need real human developers. It’s great to be skilled in both areas, though, so don’t shy away from learning JavaScript too if it interests you.
