I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card and CPU on a budget. The 3060 12GB costs about $100 less than the 4060 8GB in my country. I'm planning to move from a Ryzen 5 1600 to a Ryzen 5 5600, and I currently have a used 2060 Super with a one-year warranty. After these upgrades, I don't plan on upgrading my PC for around 3-4 years. My primary focus is on 1080p gaming with titles like Red Dead Redemption 2, The Last of Us, and upcoming games like GTA VI. I'm keen to swap out my GPU as soon as possible to avoid any issues with my current card. What do you all think I should do?

I built my rig with a Ryzen 7 and a 3060, and I'm really happy with it. The 4060 was tempting, but sticking with the 3060 saved me money for other components. If you're mainly playing at 1080p, the 3060 should handle it just fine, no regrets here!
It really comes down to what games you're playing and your priorities. You mentioned 1080p gaming, which is what the 4060 is aimed at, but some benchmarks show that the performance difference isn't huge unless you're playing specific titles. Check around on YouTube for actual comparisons.
For sure! I play at 1080p too, mostly RDR2, and having that extra VRAM has helped in some titles. But if you're tight on budget, the 3060 is a solid choice with plenty for gaming now.

That's interesting! I think I might go for the 3060 then. I heard you need a good setup especially with newer games. How’s the performance with yours?
