Should I Get 2x16GB or 2x8GB RAM for My First PC?

I'm building my first PC and I'm trying to decide between getting 16GB (2x8GB sticks) or 32GB (2x16GB sticks) of RAM. I've heard that RAM prices are high right now, but I'll mainly be playing grand strategy games, which can be quite memory-intensive. Would it be better to invest in the 32GB option now, or is it okay to go with the 16GB and upgrade later?

I think getting 1x16GB is a smarter choice than 2x8GB. It makes future upgrades easier—when you're ready to bump up to 32GB later, you can just add another 16GB stick without having to replace what you already have.

Have you thought about checking the second-hand market? Sometimes you can find good deals on RAM if you're willing to take a little risk. Just keep in mind both DDR4 and DDR5 have different upgrade paths, so pick what's best for your build!

If you're mostly playing memory-heavy games, it really doesn't make sense to opt for less RAM. Getting the 2x16GB setup will give you better performance in those scenarios, so I'd recommend going for it if you can swing the cost. Plus, prices might not exactly drop anytime soon, so better to get what you need now if your budget allows.
