I'm considering installing Fedora on my 2017 MacBook, which is currently stuck on MacOS Monterey due to update limitations. I've installed Linux Mint on older Windows devices before, but I'm unsure about switching my MacBook's OS. I often use Photoshop and iCloud Drive, but I know I can use web alternatives like Photopea and iCloud's web version. Do you think it's worth making the switch, or should I just leave it as is? If I try Fedora and later decide I want to go back to Monterey, is that possible?

Before jumping into Linux, maybe try out alternatives for Photoshop on your Mac first. A lot of folks complain about Linux being hard to use just because they miss certain features from Photoshop. Just keep in mind, online tools need an internet connection. For offline use, check out GIMP or Krita. And yes, you can definitely revert back to Monterey! Just make sure to check Apple’s support page for detailed instructions before you install Fedora.
Absolutely! Fedora will likely have better support compared to Monterey since it’s more up to date.
I put Ubuntu on my 2013 MacBook Pro and ran into a couple of hiccups: the WiFi was tricky to set up but manageable, and the webcam didn't work at all. Just a heads up!
You should definitely give it a try! If you find that Fedora isn't for you, it's pretty easy to go back to Monterey using the recovery startup option.
