Hey everyone! I recently got a new thermal paste labeled MX-30, but it looks pretty strange—it's half liquid and half paste, almost oily. I know about MX-4 and MX-6, but I've never heard of MX-30. Should I mix this paste to try to get it to a proper consistency, use it as it is, or just play it safe and buy a known brand instead?

Yeah, I've never heard of MX-30 either. If it's already separating, that's a red flag. I'd return it and go for something like Arctic MX-4 or MX-6. Trust me, better safe than sorry with thermal paste!
From what I've seen, MX-30 isn't a well-known brand at all. Given that it arrived in a weird state, I’d say it's probably best to just get rid of it and pick up some good quality thermal paste from a reputable brand. It's a small investment for better performance!
You shouldn't mix different brands, but in this case, since your MX-30 is half liquid, maybe try mixing it a bit by itself? Still, I wouldn't trust it fully. Returning it might be your best bet.
