Should I Upgrade My CPU or Wait for a Full AM5 Build?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here! I've got a Ryzen 3 3100 setup with a Gigabyte A320M-S2H motherboard, 16GB Hyperfury Beast RAM, a Kingston KC600 1TB SSD, a Corsair CV650 power supply, and an AMD Radeon 6600. Lately, I've been facing stutters in games like Tekken 8, Death Stranding, and even MGSV—which is quite old! I'm contemplating whether it makes sense to just upgrade my CPU to a Ryzen 7 5700X for now and then gradually replace other parts like the motherboard and RAM for a better performance boost, or if I should hold out and just start fresh with an AM5 build. Also, if there's a CPU that fits my current components better than the 5700X, I'd love to hear suggestions! Thanks a lot!

I wouldn’t recommend upgrading CPUs on a really basic motherboard with low-quality components. Instead of spending on a 5000 series chip now only to switch to a more expensive build later, it might be better to save your money and plan for a more comprehensive upgrade.

What would be a real upgrade in your opinion?
