Should I Upgrade My Omen Obelisk or Build a New PC?

I bought an Omen Obelisk, 875-0024 a few years back, primarily for design work, but I ended up using it for gaming as well. It currently has an RTX 2080 and an i7-8700 processor, and I've only upgraded the RAM so far. Now, it's mostly collecting dust since I got a laptop. I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading the parts to boost its performance or if I should just scrap it and start fresh by building a new PC. My goal is to have a better setup for competitive gaming, primarily for FPS and RPG games, but nothing over-the-top. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I’d recommend going for a complete build. Your Omen Obelisk can still handle 1080p at 144Hz pretty well, especially in FPS games, but for any real performance upgrade, starting from scratch is likely your best move. If you've got a Micro Center nearby, you can probably build a solid rig for around $950. If not, expect to spend about $1,050. Plus, you could sell your existing PC for around $350-400, which could help fund your new build!

Yeah, I mainly play Valorant, so I don’t need anything super fancy. Building from scratch sounds like a good plan, especially if it won’t cost much more than upgrading this one.
