Hey everyone! I'm just diving into the world of DevOps and I don't have any professional coding experience yet. I'm considering some certifications to help me get started. I've been looking at the Linux Foundation Certified IT Associate, but I'm wondering if that's a good move or if I should go straight for the Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator instead. Are there any other certification paths you would recommend for someone new to the field?

Certificates can be helpful, but keep in mind that DevOps is really about the practices and processes involved in getting code up and running. If you’re starting out, I'd suggest focusing on the SysAdmin track; getting a solid understanding of Linux will set you up well. The IT Associate certification is quite broad and might not give you the depth you need for DevOps.
I think it's super important to learn to code if you're aiming for a DevOps role. Without coding skills, you might end up just being a sysadmin, which isn't as common these days. Consider starting with some programming basics, then move to certifications.

Got it! I'll start with the Linux System Admin cert. I noticed there are a ton of other options like AWS and Hashicorp certifications out there, but I thought it might be wise to build a foundation in Linux first before diving into those.
