Struggling to Set Up a Home Server with Arch Linux—What Are My Options?

I've been trying to get a home server running for a while, but I've hit a wall. Although I've worked in IT for a long time, I don't have much experience with Linux. I chose Arch Linux because I appreciate its documentation and minimalist approach, aiming to run everything in Docker containers. Unfortunately, my multiple installation attempts have all failed due to various issues. I'm starting to wonder if I should switch to a different distribution. I've tinkered with Debian before, and that went smoothly. Should I try Ubuntu or perhaps another distro based on Arch? Looking for some suggestions!

Arch can be pretty tough, especially for beginners. Since you have an IT background, you might find Ubuntu LTS or Fedora Workstation KDE more to your liking. Both have solid documentation and a helpful community. If you're looking for something easy to use, Linux Mint could be a good choice, as it's user-friendly and based on Ubuntu. All these options are reliable and don’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon.

Yeah, I totally agree! I love the idea of Arch, but I might need more experience before tackling it. Thanks for the suggestions!
