Struggling with CachyOS for Gaming: Help Needed!

Hey everyone! I decided to give CachyOS a shot for gaming after hearing so many good things about it. I'm running it on a dual-boot setup, but ever since I installed it, I've run into a lot of issues. I'm coming from SteamOS and am pretty comfortable with Arch, but caching the setup is giving me a hard time.

Here are the problems I'm facing:
1. **CoolerControl:** I managed to get it to recognize my fans and their RPM by following some tutorials, but my settings have no effect. The fans seem to operate without following the curve I set.
2. **No Audio:** I'm using a **Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus**, and while the system detects it, there's no sound at all. I've tried every setting in Pulse and Pipewire, but nothing works.
3. **Wine Stability:** Unlike SteamOS, Wine is a disaster on this distro. I keep getting error messages just trying to start it. I can install some programs, but running them consistently fails.

I know there might be ways to fix the audio and Wine problems, but right now, my priority is getting the fan settings sorted out so I don't overheat my rig. Has anyone run into similar issues? I'd really like CachyOS to work for me, but if things don't stabilize soon, I might just switch to Bazzite instead.

P.S. The installation went smoothly, at least!

Even though CachyOS and SteamOS share the same base, they operate quite differently as distros. I wouldn't recommend CachyOS or Arch for beginners unless you're willing to dig into documentation and improve your skills.

For your CoolerControl issue, I'm not sure what the fix is, but regarding your audio problem, have you tried running a "speaker-test"? It comes with the alsa-utils package.

About Wine, which programs are you trying to run and which version of Wine do you have installed?

I feel your pain! Cachy can be a bit finicky compared to other Arch-based distros. As for the fan control, it seems like the kernel could be blocking access, which might be why you can't tweak the settings correctly. I'd suggest looking into modifying the GRUB settings further since that helped you see the fans.

For your audio, make sure you've checked all the volume levels in both Pulse and Pipewire—sometimes it’s just a matter of tweaking those settings.

And about Wine, have you run any diagnostics to see what errors you're getting? It might help clarify the issues.
