I just got a new iPhone and transferred all my data from my old one, but I reset the old iPhone. Now, my new device is trying to send a message to my old iPhone for two-factor authentication, but the old one is stuck on the 'hello' screen after being rebooted. I'm feeling a bit panicky and am unsure what to do. It also asks me to send a message to a trusted number, which appears to be my old number. Any solutions?

If both phones have SIM card trays, you should definitely move the SIM from the old device to the new one if you're not seeing any cellular service bars. If the new phone already has service, you won't need to switch SIM cards.
If your old number is inactive because you reset the phone, you might need to go through the account recovery process to update your number, but keep in mind that it can take some time. Also, double-check if you switched carriers without porting your number. That could complicate things.
I still have the SIM card in my old iPhone. If I take it out and put it into the new one, can I send the message for verification?
So if I switch the SIM over, will it allow the verification code to send to the new phone? Appreciate the help!
