Hey everyone,
After over 10 years of using Linux Mint as my main operating system, I'm seriously considering switching back to Windows to help streamline my workflow as a web developer. Though I really love Linux for its performance, customization, and aesthetics, I've been running into some frustrating limitations lately that just can't be ignored.
Here are my main concerns that are weighing on my decision:
- **ChatGPT**: I want to utilize voice input rather than typing out everything, but it seems like there's no smooth way to do this on Linux. Windows has such features already integrated, which makes it tempting.
- **Affinity Suite**: I've tried various workarounds, but using Affinity on Linux has been a challenge without much success. Windows compatibility would save me a lot of headaches.
- **Figma**: I find the desktop app version more convenient than using it solely in the browser.
- **Overall Workflow**: I feel like I'm spending too much time troubleshooting and finding fixes for issues that disrupt my productivity.
But I have to admit, I'm not a fan of Windows and switching to a Mac isn't an option right now due to budget constraints. I'm looking for any advice or solutions you all might suggest or if anyone else has faced similar challenges when considering a switch back to Windows. Thanks for reading, and have a great day!

If you're ready to leave Linux behind, I’d suggest considering macOS instead. It's a smart long-term investment; their hardware tends to last longer than most Windows PCs. I switched to a MacBook Pro a couple of years ago, and it's been the best development machine I've ever owned. macOS has its quirks, but it's generally smoother and more stable than Windows, especially for development work.
Totally agree! I switched from Windows to Mac a while back and while there are some downsides, the hardware performance is unbeatable. Best decision for me as a developer.
