Thinking of Getting Back into PC Gaming—Need Budget-Friendly Advice!

Hey everyone! I used to be an avid PC gamer from age 8 to 23, but during my twenties, I switched to gaming laptops which underperformed and became outdated quickly. After trying out the Xbox Series S and Game Pass for a few years, I really miss playing games like CS GO and other PC exclusives. I've looked into gaming PCs, but the prices around 1.5k€ feel too steep for my budget. I'm looking for something that can handle competitive games without breaking the bank. What are some good recommendations and how much should I realistically expect to spend?

Before you dive in, what's your budget looking like? To run games at a level comparable to current-gen consoles, aim for something like a Ryzen 3700 and an RTX 2070 Super. You can find those parts on eBay for around $220 or about 193 Euros. Also, consider 16GB RAM as a minimum, but going for 32GB is even better.

Just a heads up, the performance loss in laptops is usually because of dust build-up that causes thermal issues, not just outright aging. It's something to keep in mind if you decide to go back to a laptop!

Good point! I really couldn't dismantle my last laptop to clean it out.
