Thinking of Moving My Domains to Cloudflare – Any Drawbacks?

I just bought a new domain and registered it with Cloudflare for DNS and management. I find their options and interface much better than my current registrar, Network Solutions. Now, I'm considering moving my other domains over to Cloudflare as well. Are there any drawbacks to this? I don't anticipate any downtime as long as my DNS records are set up properly on both ends. Has anyone worked with Cloudflare's pricing for domain renewals?

I had a similar experience moving from Network Solutions. They're kind of the worst! Make sure to set up your DNS first before transferring domains to avoid any hiccups. The migration shouldn't lead to downtime as long as you handle the DNS records correctly.

Exactly! Just keep your DNS stable while migrating to avoid any issues. I've moved domains multiple times, and doing it right makes all the difference.

I totally get your concern about Cloudflare having control over both registration and DNS. Honestly, I prefer keeping things separate too, just in case. But their DNS service is top-notch, better than NS by a mile!

Haha, I feel you! Cloudflare might be solid, but having your DNS with a different provider just feels safer in the long run.

Honestly, moving away from Network Solutions is a no-brainer. I did it recently, and it's been fantastic. Cloudflare's service is way cheaper and way easier to manage. Just be cautious with their proxied mode; a few endpoints didn't work when I tried it out. But overall, I'd recommend the switch!

For sure! I've heard it's a much smoother experience with Cloudflare than NS. Just prepare to manually copy over your DNS records since NS doesn’t have an easy export option.

I recently moved a bunch of domains to Cloudflare. The process was pretty smooth—just make sure to check your DNS configurations after the switch. They also help protect against DDoS attacks depending on your setup. Their renewal prices are pretty fair too, typically at cost.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by their pricing! Definitely cheaper than most registrars.
