Hey everyone! The CNPE certification just got launched, and I'm really curious if any of you have taken it yet. What's your experience like? How difficult did you find it? Do you think it's worth pursuing for platform engineers? I'd love to hear your insights before I decide to go for it!

Honestly, I was considering it until I saw the price tag of $445. It feels like the CNCF is trying to profit a bit too much with these certifications.
*Raises hand* I've been in the industry for quite a while, and honestly, I don't focus much on certifications for platform engineers.
Most seasoned professionals probably don't even keep track of all the vendor-specific certifications out there!
If you're not graduating or your employer is paying, I think it's a bit of a waste of time.
The value of certs really dropped off after the 90s, especially with brain dumps around. With the exception of CCIE, which is still respected but not as crucial today because of the variety of networking vendors. Nowadays, practicing coding challenges on Leetcode is way more beneficial if you're aiming for big tech.
I see your point, but I feel certs offer a validation of skills and do help in learning a lot of essential areas. They give a different perspective for engineers, even if it’s not a replacement for real experience.
It might be a bit too soon to tell, but I'm really looking for study materials specifically for the CNPE certification. If anyone has recommendations, please share!

It's actually the Linux Foundation pushing for the revenue, not just CNCF!
