Hey everyone! I've made the decision to move from Windows 11 to PopOS and I want to ensure this transition goes as smoothly as possible. I mainly use my PC for schoolwork, Zoom calls, and gaming. I have some experience with Linux on older laptops, but I'm primarily worried about potential data loss since I've got a ton of homework saved right now. What's the best and easiest way to back up all my files and make this switch?

You should definitely back up everything important to an external hard drive, as that’s a good practice to protect your data from any unexpected issues.
Consider using an external HDD, SSD, or even a USB stick to transfer your files. A cloud service can also work well for backups. I'm a fan of PopOS too—planning to switch my gaming PC to it soon!
Make sure to back up all your important files on an external drive or a trusted cloud service. Data loss can happen unexpectedly, so it's a good idea to have backups regardless of your OS choice. Also, note that Microsoft Office won't work on Linux, but you can try alternatives like OnlyOffice or LibreOffice. Good luck with your transition!
If you haven't done so already, try running Linux on a virtual machine first. This way, you can get a feel for the installation process and see how everything works before making the full switch.
