I'm having some trouble with my AirPods Max. Whenever I take them out of the case and put them on, they go into noise canceling mode and say they're connected to my phone, but I don't hear the usual connection chime. Plus, they don't show up in the volume bar like they normally do. I've tried disconnecting and forgetting them, but nothing seems to work. This issue happens about every 2 or 3 times I try to use them. Is there a way to fix this?

What phone are you using? Do you have any other Apple devices connected? Sometimes, these issues can be linked to multiple devices trying to connect at once.
I’m using an iPhone 17 with my AirPods Max too, and I've faced similar problems. Try resetting your AirPods Max by holding the noise control and the digital crown until the LED flashes amber. It might help!
