I accidentally deleted the 5.4 version of the Dell Command Update (DCU) and also removed the dellclientmanagement service while cleaning up. Now, I can't install any version of DCU because it seems the service is necessary for the installation process, but since it's gone, I'm stuck. I've tried various solutions and just need some advice on how to proceed. Any help would be appreciated!

Just a heads up—there are actually two versions of DCU: the Windows Universal version and the regular one. Make sure you’re downloading the correct version for your system.
Have you thought about trying version 4.5? I ran into the same problem with the DCM Service, but when I went back to 4.5 from a 2022 release, it actually installed and then upgraded smoothly for me. I wasted hours before finding that fix! Also, seriously, can Dell pile on any more junk with their default setups? I’m over all that unnecessary bloat like SupportAssist and Core!
.NET needs to be updated too! Make sure you have .NET Desktop Runtime 8.0.12 or newer installed before trying to install DCU v5.5. We had a similar snag until we pushed the .NET runtime along with it.
I’ve tried 4.4, 5.3, 5.4, and 5.5 already, but I’ll give 4.5 a shot. I keep getting that annoying 'unable to start dell service' message with every install.
