Troubleshooting My New PC Build: No Signal to Monitor

Hey everyone! I just completed my first PC build, and I'm having trouble getting any image on my monitor. Here are the components I used: a Gigabyte RX 9060 XT graphics card, 16GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM (2x8 GB), a Ryzen 5 5600 CPU, an Asus A520m Plus Wi-Fi motherboard, and a Thermaltake Tough Power 750W Gold power supply. When I power it on, the GPU and motherboard light up with RGB, and all the fans are running. I've connected the monitor through HDMI to the GPU, but unfortunately, there's no display. I've tested the monitor and HDMI cable with another laptop, and they work just fine. I've also reseated the RAM and cleared the CMOS but still no luck. I'm wondering what might be causing this and how I can fix it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Cheers from Germany!

You might want to check if your motherboard’s BIOS is up to date. The Ryzen 5 5600 is only supported on BIOS version 2423 and above. Fortunately, your motherboard does support BIOS flashback, so you can look up the instructions in the manual to do a flash. Just double-check that your monitor is definitely connected to the GPU, as that's a common mix-up.

Hey there! I recently faced a similar problem with my girlfriend's PC build. It turned out her CPU cooler was improperly seated due to too much thermal paste. I would recommend double-checking your CPU installation and thermal paste application. Hopefully, you don’t have to deal with that!

If you're still getting nothing, consider connecting your monitor to the integrated graphics output. It might be sending the signal there instead of the GPU. Just make sure your BIOS is set to prioritize the dedicated GPU once you get it working. Have you managed to see anything on the screen at all during boot? If not, you might have another issue at play.

It's possible your motherboard might need a BIOS update for the Ryzen 5000 series CPU. You can do this via BIOS flashback if necessary. However, I think it's more likely you've mistakenly plugged the monitor into the motherboard instead of the GPU. Remember, the Ryzen 5 5600 doesn't have integrated graphics, so make sure you're using the first PCIe slot on the GPU for the monitor connection.

Could you post a picture of your setup? Sometimes visually inspecting the connections helps. From what you've described, make sure to check that the power supply cables, especially the CPU power cable, are securely connected. Also, try running your system with just one RAM stick at a time and test each slot.
