VHS Player is Showing ‘No Signal’ on TV – Help Needed!

Hey folks! I've got a Sharp VHS player connected to my Sharp TV using a SCART to HDMI converter since my TV only has HDMI inputs. I'm all set with the SCART cable plugged into the VHS player and the HDMI going into the TV. The odd part is that while the VHS is idle, I see a blue screen on the TV which seems fine, but when I hit play, it goes to 'No Signal'. I've looked at some reviews for the same converter and most people rave about it working perfectly with their VHS players. Can anyone suggest what might be causing this issue? Thanks a ton!

It sounds like your TV might not be able to support the resolution or frame rate that the converter is outputting. Can you share what model your TV and adapter is? Also, is your VHS player PAL or NTSC? That info could help pinpoint the problem!

The TV is a Sharp LCD model 32BI6EA and the adapter is from 'abaouat'. The VHS is PAL.
