What are some good free PostgreSQL hosting options?

I'm in search of a PostgreSQL hosting provider that offers a free tier with two key features: at least 1GB of storage and very generous or effectively unlimited API/query limits. I found Supabase to be a good option, but their 500MB storage limit isn't sufficient for my hobby project. Any suggestions or experiences with other providers would be highly appreciated!

Both Aiven and Render give you 1GB of storage while Fly.io stands out with 3GB. Just keep in mind that storage isn’t the only thing that matters. API call limits are significant too.

Totally agree; you need to look at API limits as well.

Have you thought about just running it locally on your PC? Since it's a hobby project, that might save you some hassle.

Supabase has a decent free tier, though it might not be enough for your needs. I personally moved to PlanetScale's new $5 Postgres tier, which I think is one of the best values out there for paid database services.

I like Supabase too, but the 500MB storage is just too limited. My database is creeping up to 1GB!

Consider spending a little on a VPS for your project. In the long run, it could be a better solution for you.

Or you could self-host it on a free tier EC2 instance. That might work for your needs.

Neon offers a decent free tier, but again, it's only half a gig. They do have flexible paid tiers, so depending on your usage, you might keep it under $5/month if you need more storage.

I’d still prefer Supabase over that, though.

Neon actually provides 3GB free and has nearly no query limits. Might solve all your issues in one go!
