What Are Some Lightweight Browsers for Low RAM PCs?

Good morning! I recently switched from Chrome to Firefox, but I've noticed that Firefox uses about 1GB of RAM right off the bat. My PC has 4GB of RAM, and I'm looking for a safer and more reliable lightweight browser that won't hog so much memory. Does anyone have recommendations for browsers that are more efficient with RAM usage?

Browsers do use a fair bit of RAM, and while Firefox might take up a lot, you won’t find many browsers that use only a few hundred MB. If you're looking for something lighter, you might want to look into Dillo or Netsurf. I’ve heard they can run on low RAM quite well, though compatibility can be hit or miss.

I really want something lighter than Firefox since it's using so much. Thanks for the suggestions!

Honestly, 1GB of RAM use for a browser isn't that crazy, especially if you have multiple tabs open. Have you thought about upgrading your RAM? Since you’re on 4GB now, it might feel a bit limiting.

I can't upgrade it because my RAM is soldered on. I’m kind of stuck with what I have.

Another option is to use uBlock Origin with Firefox to help reduce RAM usage. But if you're determined to find something lighter, Dillo and Netsurf are your best bets for low RAM setups, just keep in mind that they may not support all modern web features.
