Hey everyone! I'm currently serving as an IT specialist in the US Navy and I'm considering what to do when I transition to shore duty. With my background in IT school and experience in areas like ePolicy Orchestrator and VMWare, along with having a Top Secret clearance, I'm trying to figure out what certifications I should focus on. I specifically deal with user account management and LAN security monitoring. What steps should I take to smoothly transition into a civilian position in my field?

Your Top Secret clearance is a huge asset! It’s actually worth way more than any certification, especially if you're looking at federal jobs. Many employers in the IT field are more interested in finding someone who already has the clearance instead of having to sponsor it. If you have it, you're in a strong position to land a job quickly.

Totally agree, the clearance really opens doors. But it's also good to learn a bit about cloud technologies since that's becoming more common. Even if your next job focuses on on-premises systems, having some cloud knowledge can make you more marketable!
