I've been using an RTX 3080 Ti since 2021 with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a 27-inch 1440p monitor running at 165Hz. I mainly play DOTA 2, CS2, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and the occasional Assassin's Creed game, with very few other demanding AAA titles. I'd like a meaningful upgrade that will last for several years. After selling my 3080 Ti, I can spend roughly $1,000 more. Which graphics card would make the most sense for this system and workload?

If you specifically want Nvidia, look at the RTX 5070 Ti or RTX 5080. The 5080 would be a more obvious upgrade, but you may need to spend beyond the extra $1,000 depending on the price you get for your current card. For your actual game list, the 5070 Ti is likely the more sensible choice.
Honestly, your current system is already more than capable for most of these games. DOTA 2 and CS2 should run extremely well, and Flight Simulator will often be limited by the CPU, game settings, or simulation workload rather than just the GPU. I’d be tempted to keep the 3080 Ti for another couple of years and save the money for a larger upgrade later.
Before buying a much faster GPU, consider upgrading the display instead. A 1440p OLED with a higher refresh rate could make a bigger day-to-day difference, while your 3080 Ti is still very capable at 1440p. If you do upgrade the card, the 5070 Ti and 9070 XT are the balanced choices rather than jumping straight to a flagship model.
The Radeon RX 9070 XT is probably the best value option in this price range. It should provide a solid improvement at 1440p and has enough performance to stay relevant for a while. The RTX 5070 Ti is also a strong alternative, especially if you prefer Nvidia’s features or software support.
