What Linux Distro Should I Choose for Gaming and Customization?

I'm looking to switch from Windows for good since I'm really tired of it. I've tried a few Linux distros before, so I'm not completely new to the system.

I need a distro mainly for gaming; I play story-driven games, Minecraft, and Overwatch, which I believe should work fine on Linux. I'm also interested in ricing my setup, but I'm not sure whether immutable distros will allow that. I prefer using KDE as my desktop environment and I have an Nvidia GPU.

I've considered Bazzite, but I'm concerned about its immutability. Any suggestions?

If you're okay with something Debian-based, I'd suggest either Debian or Kubuntu. They have some of the simplest terminal commands, making things like updates and installations a breeze. Plus, the large community means you'll find plenty of help!

CachyOS could be a solid choice for you! It's easy to set up but gives you the chance to delve deeper if you want. It has modern optimizations for Nvidia cards and straightforward adjustments. It's also gaining popularity, so community support is there if you need help.

I’m not super tech-savvy myself, just know the basics to troubleshoot. I’m torn between Nobara and CachyOS; any tips?

I'd recommend **Nobara KDE**. It's based on Fedora, runs smoothly for gaming, especially with Nvidia, and allows for customization. While **Bazzite** is decent, you might find its immutability limits your options for tweaking. If you’re ready to get your hands dirty and learn about ricing from scratch, **Garuda KDE** could be a fun choice too!

Most distros should work for your needs, as long as they're actively maintained. You might want to check out some popular options recommended by the community.

If you’re looking for something user-friendly that supports Nvidia drivers for gaming, I’d suggest giving Fedora a try. You can definitely customize it with ricing, especially with KDE, though I've heard Hyprland works well too.
